Virginal ring to prevent HIV

Scientists are working on a virginal ring to prevent HIV and it looks promising!
HIV is one disease that has generated so much controversies that it's both delightful and reassuring to know that researchers are still on the bench trying to figure out ways to reduce the number of people with new infection.

The virginal ring in question is a simple device similar to that inserted by women  to prevent pregnancy .However,in this case, the rings are loaded with anti HIV medications(Dapivirine) that help to fight the virus if sex happens with an infected person.The ring can be inserted and removed by
the woman but to be effective,must be left in during sexual intercourse.

So far the preliminary results are promising.The ring have not been proven to be 100% effective but with a success rate of 74% in those who consistently use it,it's obvious is something good.For the fact that it's  an option women can control and hope that majority of women folks would consider it in good light after the initial short comings addressed and the device licensed for use .
